5/16" CARBON YARN WITH I.W. PACKING

The 11820312-01 is a Braided Inconel Wire Compression Packing measuring a 5/16 inch square cross section. This compression packing is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. The catalog record notes: 1 LB. Box - Approx. 14 FT.

Expect good resistance to shaft wear, elevated temperature and pressure, and process media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Braided Inconel Wire is valued for dependable service life when correctly adjusted and field-cuttable rings for fast, inexpensive repacking. Rated for service to approximately 1200°F. It is not the right choice where over-tightening of the gland or running dry without flush are present.

It sees regular use in valves and agitators, water and process plants, and mixers and rotary equipment.
