APG stocks the 11770312-05, a Novoloid Fiber/PTFE Compression Packing built to a 5/16 inch square cross section. A compression packing seals the shaft while allowing controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the packing set. Source specification: 5 LB. Box - Approx. 100 FT.

As a material, Novoloid Fiber/PTFE is specified for near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material holds up against solvents, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
