This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-036 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile measuring an inside diameter of 2.364 in (60.05 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.504 in (63.6 mm), catalogued under part number SV70036. It uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Viton® (FKM) is known for outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam will shorten service life.
