This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-043 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile built to an inside diameter of 3.489 in (88.62 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.629 in (92.18 mm), catalogued under part number SV70043. It uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is specified for very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. Expect good resistance to chlorinated solvents, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in semiconductor equipment, high-temperature process equipment, and aerospace.
