568-047 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

The TES70047 is an AS568-047 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 4.489 in (114.02 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.629 in (117.58 mm). This o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware. The catalog record notes: ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is specified here for chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone and non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface. It resists steam, strong acids and solvents, and nearly all process chemicals. The material carries a published service range of -75°F (-59.4°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving installation over sharp edges or tight-radius dynamic flexing call for a different compound.
