This o-ring is supplied in AS568-048 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 50 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 4.739 in (120.37 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.879 in (123.93 mm), catalogued under part number H50048. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The compound resists petroleum-based oils, hydraulic fluids, and greases and lubricants. Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for strong abrasion and tear resistance, reliable performance in both static and dynamic service. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. Exposure to ketones or polar solvents will shorten service life.
