As a material, Aflas (TFE/P) is widely chosen for proven performance in aggressive downhole environments and strong resistance to rapid gas decompression. The material holds up against amines and corrosion inhibitors, strong bases, and hot water. Continuous operating temperature is published at -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in some chlorinated solvents or low-temperature dynamic service.
