An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, strong abrasion and tear resistance. The material holds up against hydraulic fluids, water, and propane and butane. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. Applications involving ketones or strong acids call for a different compound.
