An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Polyurethane (AU/EU) is specified here for very high tensile strength and load capacity, toughness that outperforms conventional rubber compounds. Expect good resistance to abrasion and wear, extrusion under high pressure, and impact and shock loading. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 200°F (93.3°C).
