An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

EPDM (EPR) is valued for good electrical insulating characteristics and very good flexibility at low temperature. Expect good resistance to phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, ozone, UV and weathering, and dilute acids and alkalis. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C).

Typical settings include solar and roofing assemblies, outdoor equipment, and HVAC and refrigeration.
