Ordered as SV70171, this is an AS568-171 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 7.987 in (202.87 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.193 in (208.1 mm). The quad-ring seats in a standard o-ring gland while offering improved dynamic performance.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The material holds up against many acids, chlorinated solvents, and engine and transmission fluids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or ketones and esters will shorten service life.
