568-178 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

APG stocks the TES70178, an AS568-178 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 9.737 in (247.32 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.943 in (252.55 mm). An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies. This item is further identified as ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is specified for excellent recovery across extreme temperature cycling and a non-contaminating, non-stick sealing surface. The compound resists steam, nearly all process chemicals, and wide temperature swings. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where installation over sharp edges or tight-radius dynamic flexing are present.

Common environments for this compound include cryogenic and high-temperature equipment, food and beverage processing, and chemical processing.
