The SV70228 is an AS568-228 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 2.234 in (56.74 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.512 in (63.8 mm). This quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

It resists aggressive chemicals, many acids, and engine and transmission fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is known for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and very low compression set at elevated temperature. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or amines.
