An o-ring delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

This material stands up to modern refrigerants, heat and oxidation, and petroleum oils and fuels. That behavior comes from the compound itself: HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) is widely chosen for the oil resistance of nitrile with substantially better heat capability and strong resistance to rapid gas decompression. Published continuous service range is -40°F (-40°C) to 325°F (162.8°C). It should not be specified for service in chlorinated hydrocarbons or esters.
