The H50256 is an AS568-256 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 50 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.734 in (145.64 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.012 in (152.7 mm). This o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is known for low compression set under sustained load, strong abrasion and tear resistance. It resists greases and lubricants, many alcohols, and propane and butane. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving automotive brake fluid or ozone and direct sunlight call for a different compound.
