The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Polyurethane (AU/EU) is specified here for long wear life in dynamic reciprocating service and outstanding extrusion resistance at elevated pressure. It resists ozone, petroleum oils, and impact and shock loading. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 200°F (93.3°C).
