HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) is known for long service life in refrigerant and oilfield duty, excellent abrasion and tear strength. The material holds up against modern refrigerants, heat and oxidation, and sour gas and amine inhibitors. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 325°F (162.8°C) in continuous service. Applications involving ketones or strong oxidizing acids call for a different compound.
