The SV70279 is an AS568-279 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 12.984 in (329.79 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 13.262 in (336.85 mm). This quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

The compound resists chlorinated solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons, and aggressive chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam.
