H50283 is an AS568-283 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 50 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 16.955 in (430.66 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 17.233 in (437.72 mm). In service, this o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

It resists petroleum-based oils, water, and hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) offers reliable performance in both static and dynamic service, the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in ketones or automotive brake fluid.
