This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-310 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile with an inside diameter of 0.475 in (12.07 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.895 in (22.73 mm), catalogued under part number SV70310. It delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is valued for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or ketones and esters are present.
