An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

It resists strong bases, high-temperature steam, and hot water. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Aflas (TFE/P) is known for high-temperature steam capability that most fluoroelastomers cannot match and excellent electrical insulating properties. The material carries a published service range of -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Verify compatibility before use with aromatic hydrocarbons or low-temperature dynamic service.
