568-317 FEP ENCAPSULATED SILICONE

Ordered as TES70317, this is an AS568-317 red PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.912 in (23.16 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.332 in (33.83 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces. The catalog record notes: ORING 70 Durometer.

PTFE-Encapsulated Silicone is widely chosen for a seamless PTFE jacket over a resilient silicone core and chemical inertness of PTFE with the wide temperature range of silicone. The compound resists strong acids and solvents, nearly all process chemicals, and wide temperature swings. Service temperature is rated from -75°F (-59.4°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where installation over sharp edges or tight-radius dynamic flexing are present.
