This o-ring is supplied in AS568-358 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 50 Shore A with an inside diameter of 5.6 in (142.24 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.02 in (152.91 mm), catalogued under part number H50358. It provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

This material stands up to many alcohols, water, and propane and butane. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) offers an economical choice for high-volume maintenance programs and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or automotive brake fluid call for a different compound.
