The quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

It resists petroleum-based oils, greases and lubricants, and many alcohols. Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Exposure to automotive brake fluid or polar solvents will shorten service life.
