This o-ring is supplied in AS568-382 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 50 Shore A with an inside diameter of 12.975 in (329.57 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 13.395 in (340.23 mm), catalogued under part number H50382. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

It resists hydraulic fluids, petroleum-based oils, and greases and lubricants. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. Service temperature is rated from -40°F (-40°C) through 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving strong acids or ketones call for a different compound.
