The o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. The material holds up against engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids.
