The material holds up against water and steam, ketones, and dilute acids and alkalis. EPDM (EPR) delivers excellent hot water and steam resistance, outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons will shorten service life.
