568-400 PTFE ORINGS FDA

TFE400 is an AS568-400 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.35 in (34.29 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.9 in (48.26 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. This material stands up to strong acids and bases, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.
