Part number U90408 is an AS568-408 clear Polyurethane (AU/EU) 90 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.35 in (59.69 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.9 in (73.66 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Polyurethane (AU/EU) is specified here for long wear life in dynamic reciprocating service and outstanding extrusion resistance at elevated pressure. The compound resists extrusion under high pressure, abrasion and wear, and impact and shock loading. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 200°F (93.3°C). Applications involving prolonged humidity at elevated temperature or ketones call for a different compound.
