As a material, Polyurethane (AU/EU) is valued for toughness that outperforms conventional rubber compounds and outstanding extrusion resistance at elevated pressure. This material stands up to abrasion and wear, ozone, and petroleum oils. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 200°F (93.3°C). Applications involving prolonged humidity at elevated temperature or acids and bases call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in hydraulic cylinders, press and forming equipment, and high-pressure fluid power.
