568-420 PTFE ORINGS FDA

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-420 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D supplied with an inside diameter of 3.85 in (97.79 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.4 in (111.76 mm), catalogued under part number TFE420. It provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, solvents, and oxidizing media. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.
