568-422 PTFE ORINGS FDA

Part number TFE422 is an AS568-422 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.1 in (104.14 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.65 in (118.11 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. The material holds up against solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical and biotech, and chemical processing.
