The TFE423 is an AS568-423 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.225 in (107.32 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.775 in (121.29 mm). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. The material holds up against solvents, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C).
