The TFE424 is an AS568-424 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 4.35 in (110.49 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.9 in (124.46 mm). This o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

PTFE (Teflon) is valued for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and oxidizing media. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery call for a different compound.

Typical settings include aggressive-media pipelines, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
