EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for very good flexibility at low temperature and good electrical insulating characteristics. The material holds up against brake fluid, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and dilute acids and alkalis. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil-based lubricants are present.
