An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to brake fluids and phosphate esters, sour gas and hydrogen sulfide, and amines and corrosion inhibitors. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Aflas (TFE/P) is specified for proven performance in aggressive downhole environments and exceptional resistance to amine-based additives. Published continuous service range is -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Exposure to some chlorinated solvents or low-temperature dynamic service will shorten service life.
