The SH70449 is an AS568-449 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 9.975 in (253.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.525 in (267.34 mm). This quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. This material stands up to hydraulic fluids, propane and butane, and many alcohols. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C).
