SV70449 is an AS568-449 black Viton® (FKM) 70 Shore A square profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 9.975 in (253.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.525 in (267.34 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and engine and transmission fluids. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or ketones and esters call for a different compound.

Typical settings include automotive fuel systems, oil and gas, and chemical processing.
