The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Polyurethane (AU/EU) is specified here for very high tensile strength and load capacity, exceptional abrasion resistance. This material stands up to ozone, abrasion and wear, and impact and shock loading. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 200°F (93.3°C). Exposure to ketones or acids and bases will shorten service life.
