An o-ring delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

As a material, HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) offers strong resistance to rapid gas decompression and the oil resistance of nitrile with substantially better heat capability. The material holds up against modern refrigerants, petroleum oils and fuels, and sour gas and amine inhibitors. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 325°F (162.8°C). Applications involving ketones or esters call for a different compound.

Typical settings include engine timing systems, oilfield and downhole equipment, and heavy-duty powertrain.
