This o-ring is supplied in AS568-471 black EPDM (EPR) 80 Shore A with an inside diameter of 21.955 in (557.66 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 22.505 in (571.63 mm), catalogued under part number E80PC471. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for good electrical insulating characteristics, strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations. The material holds up against dilute acids and alkalis, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and water and steam. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). It is not the right choice where mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons are present.
