This o-ring is supplied in AS568-473 black EPDM (EPR) 80 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 23.94 in (608.08 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 24.49 in (622.05 mm), catalogued under part number E80PC473. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, EPDM (EPR) is known for excellent hot water and steam resistance, outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance. The material holds up against dilute acids and alkalis, water and steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to mineral oil-based lubricants or petroleum oils and fuels will shorten service life.
