Buna-N (Nitrile) delivers low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The compound resists greases and lubricants, propane and butane, and many alcohols. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where polar solvents or ketones are present.
