As a material, G.F.O. Packing offers controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the shaft, a braided construction that conforms to the stuffing box. It resists elevated temperature and pressure, process media, and shaft wear. Rated for service to approximately 550°F. It is not the right choice where over-tightening of the gland or running dry without flush are present.
