5/8" TALLOW LUBRICATED FLAX PACKING

This compression packing is supplied in Tallow Lubricated Flax supplied with a 5/8 inch square cross section, catalogued under part number 14600625-05. It is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. Source specification: 5 LB. Box - Approx. 27 FT.

Expect good resistance to shaft wear, process media, and elevated temperature and pressure. Tallow Lubricated Flax is valued for field-cuttable rings for fast, inexpensive repacking, controlled leakage that lubricates and cools the shaft. It should not be specified for service in over-tightening of the gland or running dry without flush.
