A compression packing is cut into rings and stacked in a stuffing box, then compressed by the gland to seal a rotating or reciprocating shaft. Source specification: 10 LB. Box - Approx. 87 FT.

Novoloid Fiber/PTFE is specified here for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The compound resists strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. Exposure to molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.
