Ordered as 7GSW6B1600, this is a green 316L Stainless Steel Class 300 Spiral Wound Gasket supplied with a 16 inch nominal pipe size and a Class 300 pressure rating. The spiral wound gasket alternates metal windings with a soft filler so the gasket recovers elastically through thermal and pressure cycling.

This material stands up to elevated temperature, salt water and washdown, and corrosion and oxidation. 316L Stainless Steel is specified for high mechanical strength and pressure capability, dimensional stability under thermal cycling. It should not be specified for service in chloride stress cracking in some grades or galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals.

It sees regular use in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and chemical transfer.
