8-105 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Part number VBU90105 is an AS568-105 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.143 in (3.63 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.349 in (8.86 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

This material stands up to many acids, petroleum oils and fuels, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving ketones and esters or amines call for a different compound.
