8-106 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Part number VBU90106 is an AS568-106 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.174 in (4.42 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.38 in (9.65 mm). A back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Expect good resistance to engine and transmission fluids, aggressive chemicals, and many acids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters call for a different compound.

Typical settings include high-temperature process equipment, oil and gas, and automotive fuel systems.
