Ordered as VBU90153, this is an AS568-153 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.487 in (88.57 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.693 in (93.8 mm). The back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. Expect good resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and aggressive chemicals. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C).
